I have a passing interest in linguistics, which This was a design exercise, to create a concept poster for a single phoneme, the voiceless postalveolar fricative. In the International Phonetic Alphabet, it’s known as ʃ.
What are some everyday words in common languages that have this sound? And which graphemes in those words correspond to it?
In a full set of phoneme posters, each phoneme would get a similar treatment. They could be collected into a book, or redesigned as flashcards.
